LEAVES - Sechs Physiotypien Picture: Anke Dilé Wissing

The LEAVES exhibition will open in the presence of the artist Anke Dilé Wissing on Tuesday, 23 September at 3.30 pm in the main building of the Chemnitz Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147. Six physiotypes will be on display in the exhibition.

Interested parties and representatives of the media are invited to the exhibition opening.

Anke Dilé Wissing spent her childhood in the Mark Brandenburg and Naumburg an der Saale. Her paintings and graphic works mainly focus on people and nature. With the LEAVES series, she is intensively involved with one of the oldest printing techniques, the physiotype.
At the end of the 17th century, before the print runs of books increased and etching was invented, this printing process was the usual printing method for the precise depiction of natural structures. A well-balanced and time-tested interplay of ink application and various preparations of the paper and printing boards, as well as the appropriate print thickness, produce the result the artist is striving for.

The exhibition can be viewed during regular opening hours until 30 November 2025. The exhibition is accessible free of charge.
