Germany's largest festival for international stage arts. Nine international curators from Argentina, Australia, China, Greece, India, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Senegal and South Africa have created the programme and invited 33 plays from all continents. The result is an inspiring panorama of current theatre forms, languages and perspectives for THEATER DER WELT Chemnitz 2026.
moreKOSMOS combines pop culture, art, discourse and participation and translates the big questions of our time into tangible formats - because the future is created through collective action. KOSMOS Chemnitz stands for a city that takes a stand and for spaces in which dialogue is possible. In 2026, after two years at the Schloßteich, new locations will be included in the design. The festival will take place on 29 August in the area between Hartmannplatz, Schmidtbankpassage and Kaßbergauffahrt.
