Residents' meetings are usually held twice a year in the town hall for the entire city area.

The aim of the residents' meetings is to

  • To promote proximity to citizens and citizen involvement,
  • to improve citizen participation, i.e. to take residents' wishes into account in future administrative decisions,
  • provide opportunities for residents to enter into dialogue with the top management and the municipal council.

Residents' meetings for the entire city area

On 10 April, all residents of the districts of Adelsberg, Erfenschlag, Harthau, Reichenhain and the villages of Einsiedel, Euba, Klaffenbach and Kleinolbersdorf-Altenhain were invited to a residents' meeting at the Einsiedel grammar school.

Mayor Sven Schulze, the mayoress and the mayors provided information on current developments and key projects in the first part of the meeting. Afterwards, participants were able to address their concerns to the administration and city stakeholders and enter into dialogue. In addition to representatives of the city of Chemnitz and the localities, contact persons from the waste disposal and city cleaning company and the South-East Citizens' Platform were also available.
