Lord Mayor of the City of Chemnitz
Sven Schulze

On 11 October 2020, Sven Schulze was elected as the new Lord Mayor of the City of Chemnitz. With 34.88 per cent, he received the most votes of all five candidates in the second ballot.
The Chemnitz City Council elected Sven Schulze as mayor on 25 November 2020. He therefore already had all the rights and duties of a Lord Mayor on the following day.
After the election of the Lord Mayor became legally binding, Sven Schulze declared that he would officially take up the office of Lord Mayor on 12 March 2021.

- 1997 - 2015 (Senior) employee at Envia Mitteldeutsche Energie AG with positions in controlling, investment management and corporate development - since 2011 as head of corporate communications/environmental management and authorised signatory of the company
- 2015 - 2020 Mayor for Human Resources, Finance and Organisation as well as Treasurer and Head of the Administrative Staff of the City of Chemnitz
- Since 2020 Lord Mayor of the City of Chemnitz
