From now on, Chemnitz residents can report defects that can be rectified by the City of Chemnitz via the citizen participation portal of the Free State of Saxony.

The "defect report" contains predefined categories in which the identified defect can be sent directly to the responsible department.

These categories are:

  • Damage to traffic signs, bollards, railings, crash barriers and road markings
  • Damage to roads and pavements and blocked street drains
  • Disruption to city lighting
  • Damage to public transport stops
  • Damage, hazards in public playgrounds and on playground equipment
  • Damage or defects in public green spaces
  • Hazards and impairments in traffic greenery
  • Damage and soiling of public fountains
  • Soiling of used textile containers
  • Illegal dumping of waste
  • Defective or overfilled litter bins outside public green spaces

If one of these situations is discovered in the city of Chemnitz, citizens can report the location, upload photos and describe the situation. The report can be made as a registered person in the portal or anonymously.

After being entered in the portal, the report is not immediately visible, but is first editorially checked. It is then activated and appears in the portal with the status "new". The further processing status can be tracked in the portal:

  • In process: registered in the responsible department
  • Completed: rectification completed or planned
  • Closed: unsuccessful, e.g. because the city of Chemnitz is not responsible
