Chemnitz Skilled Labour Alliance
As a cooperative network, the regional skilled labour alliance is responsible for securing skilled workers in Chemnitz. Since its foundation in 2016, the stakeholders in the Skilled Labour Alliance have pursued the goal of close cooperation in order to make joint decisions on measures and projects. The individual expertise and interlinked network of each player form the basis for effective and efficient cooperation.
The legal basis for their activities is the directive of the Saxon State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport (SMWA) dated 30.04.20219 on the funding of projects to secure skilled workers (Skilled Workers Directive). The guideline defines the framework conditions and funding requirements for projects aimed at securing skilled labour.
The Chemnitz Skilled Labour Alliance is also guided by the Skilled Labour Strategy 2030 for the Free State of Saxony. Finally, the Chemnitz Skilled Labour Alliance's action plan rounds off the basis for joint cooperation between the stakeholders.
The Chemnitz Skilled Labour Alliance is coordinated by the City of Chemnitz's Business Division together with the Chemnitz Employment Agency.

Promotion of projects via the Skilled Labour Directive
The Fachkräfterichtlinie des Freistaates Sachsen forms the basis for the funding of projects to secure skilled labour.
The Chemnitz Skilled Labour Alliance usually publishes a call for projects once a year. Project organisers, companies and institutions have the opportunity to submit project outlines to the Skilled Labour Alliance as part of this call. The submitted project outlines are first reviewed and then prepared for evaluation and prioritisation by the members of the Chemnitz Skilled Labour Alliance. In the further process, applicants are given the opportunity to present their project to the members of the Skilled Workers Alliance in person.
Following the project presentation, the submitted projects are evaluated and prioritised by the members of the Chemnitz Skilled Workers Alliance. The project organiser can only submit the complete funding application via the funding portal of the Sächsische Aufbaubank (SAB) if it is approved.
In addition to the regular calls for projects, project applications can also be submitted during the year, subject to the availability of budget funds.
Note:
All project applications or project outlines must be coordinated with the Skilled Labour Coordination (contact person under "Contact") before submission.
Since 1 June 2025, applications have been submitted exclusively digitally via the SAB funding portal. Prior coordination with the coordination centre is still mandatory.
Funding for projects via the ESF Plus "Future of Vocational Training" programme
The ESF Plus "Future of Vocational Training" guideline can be used to fund regionally specific and needs-orientated projects in the field of vocational training.
Projects in the following areas are eligible for funding:
Vocational training in times of digitalisation
Vocational training in times of environmental protection, climate protection and adaptation as well as resilient, low-carbon economic development
Vocational education and training in the context of structural change
Vocational education and training taking into account the increasing diversity of the potential skilled workforce and a gender-specific training and labour market
Vocational education and training, taking into account company training and further training capacities and requirements, especially those of micro and small enterprises
Since 13 March 2025, applications have been submitted exclusively digitally via the SAB funding portal.
The Chemnitz Skilled Labour Alliance is involved in the evaluation process for regionally specific projects.
