Welcome to the Welcome Centre of the City of Chemnitz!

The Welcome Centre is a central point of contact for skilled workers, returnees, graduates and newcomers from Germany and abroad who want to live and work in Chemnitz.

The arrival and settling in in Chemnitz should be made as easy and pleasant as possible. To this end, the Welcome Centre will help you with many matters, such as finding accommodation and a job, dealing with the authorities, searching for language courses and providing information on local childcare and leisure activities.

The Welcome Centre also assists regional employers with questions regarding the integration of international skilled workers.

Event: Stay for Ukrainian people in Chemnitz

The Welcome Center Chemnitz invites you to the information event "Welcome to stay - residence and prospects for Ukrainian people in Chemnitz" on 2 March 2026. All further information on the event can be found under current information.

Counselling in Russian/Ukrainian now also on Monday and Tuesday

The Welcome Centre is pleased to inform you that in addition to the consultation hours on Thursday afternoons, Russian/Ukrainian advice is now also available on Monday and Tuesday mornings.

Information on residence prospects for Ukrainians in Chemnitz

The team at the Welcome Centre Chemnitz would like to once again expressly draw attention to the support options for refugees from Ukraine who are living here in Chemnitz in accordance with § 24 AufenthG and still require assistance in the various procedures.

Parking is available for a fee in the surrounding multi-storey car parks ("Roter Turm" multi-storey car park and "Rathauspassagen" multi-storey car park).

The stops "Zentralhaltestelle" or "Roter Turm" are served by many lines.
