A wedding is one of the most beautiful moments and memories in a couple's life. We are delighted that you wish to seal your marriage in Chemnitz. You must register your marriage at the registry office in whose jurisdiction one of the partners is resident.
Wedding dates
In order to be able to organise your desired date for the wedding, we recommend that you enquire and reserve it at the registry office well in advance. This is possible up to one year in advance. You can view the current availability of wedding dates under the respective wedding venue.
Please note that appointments for all wedding venues in Chemnitz must be made at the registry office. This applies both to the wedding venues of the City of Chemnitz and to the wedding venues of external operators.
Registration
When registering the marriage, the couple's marriage requirements are checked.
Registration can take place at the earliest 6 months before the wedding date. If there are no office hours on the day you have calculated (Sunday or public holiday), you have the opportunity to register your marriage on the following office day.
