Committee for the strengthening and further development of Chemnitz as a business location

Lord Mayor Sven Schulze has appointed an Economic Advisory Board. 19 representatives from companies, associations, science and trade unions are to advise the Lord Mayor on fundamental issues relating to economic development and business promotion as well as location issues.

Lord Mayor Sven Schulze: "Chemnitz needs a strong economy. I would like to utilise the expertise and network of entrepreneurs and economic players in Chemnitz to achieve this. Our goal is to work together to make Chemnitz economically better, stronger and more sustainable. A city that is worth investing in".

The Economic Advisory Board meets five times a year. It will call in further experts. The Economic Advisory Council's deliberations are held in private. Mayor Sven Schulze will regularly report on the work of the advisory board to the administration and finance committee.

The committee's task is to provide impetus and develop proposals for fundamental and strategic issues in the context of Chemnitz as a business location. Coordination and organisational support for the Economic Advisory Board is provided directly by the Mayor's Office via the Business Division.

The aim is to provide the business community with a direct point of contact at City Hall with short communication channels and pragmatic decisions. The business division takes over all business development tasks directly from the town hall.
