Stefan and Inge Heym working library at the TIETZ
In the DAStietz cultural centre, the Stefan Heym Forum was created as part of the Chemnitz City Library on an area of around 240 square metres through extensive renovations. In addition to the exhibition, which is open to the public, a modern event and training area with around 30 seats has also been integrated here.

Baumgarten-Wölfert memorial exhibition Grüna
The exhibition, which opened in September 2019, guides visitors through the history of aviation and airships to two largely unknown Saxon airship pioneers who tested airship models decades before Zeppelin and suffered tragic fates: Georg Baumgarten, Royal Saxon Chief Forester in Grüna, and Hermann Wölfert, a publishing bookseller from Leipzig, ventured into the still virtually unexplored field of aviation as self-taught experts.

A passion for the history of medicine: from A for anaesthesia to Z for dentistry - there are more than 4,000 exhibits to discover in the Chemnitz Hospital's medical history collection. These were collected over a period of more than 40 years.

Carlfriedrich Claus (1930-1998) is considered a co-founder of visual poetry and is highly regarded internationally today. He created small-format, filigree works on tracing paper, which he densely marked and inscribed on both sides so that the lines form networks and overlays and suggest figures or landscapes.

Chemnitz Technical Clock Museum
You can discover the 150-year history of electrically controlled master clocks and signal clocks with 80 models from Germany, England and France. The 500-year history of the development of tower clocks can be experienced above all through exhibits from Saxon manufacturing companies such as Zachariä (Leipzig) and Hahn (Zwickau). Individual ringing devices such as railway chimes and electrically controlled clocks are also on display.

Arctic-Alpine Garden
The Arctic Alpine Garden was founded by the musician, composer and author of various zoological and botanical books and other publications, Walter Meusel, in 1956. After Walter Meusel's death (1990), the Arctic Alpine Garden was preserved and continued under the auspices of the non-profit Walter Meusel Foundation.
