YouthArtTriennial 2024
The 2024 edition of the JugendKunstTriennale is over: The award-winning art was on display at the Freiheitshalle Hof in July. On display were the works of the competition for young artists from the Saxon-Bavarian city network, in which young artists between the ages of 14 and 25 took part. The six-member jury had to assess a total of 438 entries from Bayreuth, Chemnitz, Hof, Plauen, Marktredwitz and Zwickau.
The JugendKunstTriennale is the most important cultural project of the Saxon-Bavarian network of cities and takes place every three years. The participants from Chemnitz and the cultural region have also contributed significantly to the success of the project with their creativity and the quality of their artistic work.

Award winners have been announced
The works of 26 young artists from Chemnitz and the cultural region are on display in the large competition exhibition in Hof, including the six prize-winning works. One of the winners of the main prize is 17-year-old Lotta Seifert from Chemnitz with her painting "Wegbegleiter".

This year, the city of Hof was the organiser of the JugendKunstTriennale and hosted the award ceremony and exhibition opening. The award winners were announced and honoured in the presence of representatives from the six cities and a large number of the artists. Peter Nürmberger, Head of the Cultural Department of the City of Hof, curated the exhibition together with Anja Schmidt and Sigena Süßmann and also hosted the award ceremony. Jury spokesman Bernd Rössler, painter and lecturer at the technical college for product design in Selb, presented the endowed prizes together with the Mayor of Hof, Eva Döhla.

The winners will also have the opportunity to present their work in a solo exhibition at Kunstladen Selbitz e. V. Harry Kurz, Chairman of Kunstladen Selbitz e. V., is looking forward to the upcoming collaboration with the two young artists Finia Merle Schneider and Jannik Gottinger.

The JugendKunstTriennale is the network's largest joint cultural project. More than 4,500 young people have taken part in the project since the competition began in 1998.
