Sukkot 2025
2025 is a special year for Chemnitz, as the city is the European Capital of Culture. For this reason, there will be no ordinary Days of Jewish Culture.
Instead, the success of 2021 will be built on and the Feast of Tabernacles will be celebrated publicly and together with the Jewish Community of Chemnitz in the Stadthallenpark from 5 to 13 October 2025.
This time, two huts will be set up. The kosher sukkah, "Sukkat Shalom", will be designed and inhabited by the Jewish community of Chemnitz for this week in strict accordance with religious regulations. It will be a place for public services, accommodate guests and invite people to come together. There will also be a cultural sukkah, "Sukkat Chaverim". It will be rainproof and function as an artistic meeting and learning centre. There, contemporary art and culture will be brought into resonance with the Sukkot festival.
