Playground in Zeisigwald to be refurbished
The Forststraße playground in Zeisigwald is being refurbished and refitted. By the end of the year, the new facilities will include a climbable volcano, new swings, climbing frames and balancing equipment, a cable car, and new seating areas for families.
As the playground is already in good working order, the basic structure will be retained as far as possible, with only certain areas being refurbished or upgraded. For example, all safety surfacing will be replaced, as will the water-bound path surfaces – some of which have been washed away – and the dilapidated edging.
In addition, two new seating areas with table-and-bench combinations will be created, designed to encourage picnics and relaxation. Bicycle racks will also be installed in a central location.
