Residents' meeting on 6 May 2022

On Friday 6 May, citizens from the north and north-east of Chemnitz were invited to a residents' meeting at Borna primary school. Specifically, the event was aimed at residents from the districts of Wittgensdorf, Röhrsdorf, Borna-Heinersdorf, Glösa-Draisdorf, Furth, Ebersdorf, Hilbersdorf and Sonnenberg.

Lord Mayor Sven Schulze, the four mayors and stakeholders from the districts provided information about current events and upcoming projects in the respective districts.

Afterwards, there was the opportunity to talk to the mayors, ask questions and make suggestions. Representatives from CVAG and ASR were also present, as well as contact persons for the topic of Ukraine aid.

Most of the questions asked by the 80 or so citizens were directed at the building department, particularly about the Chemnitz Model route towards Limbach-Oberfrohna and the planned industrial estate in Wittgensdorf. Questions were also answered about the Capital of Culture, the fire brigade, police, order and safety, environmental protection, pandemic management, youth issues and the city administration as an employer. The social welfare office and the education department answered questions about refugees from Ukraine.
