Information on the use of digital services of the City of Chemnitz

All services of the City of Chemnitz listed here can also be found on the Amt24 service portal of the Free State of Saxony. The links in the service portal will take you there.

Once you have registered your service account free of charge, you can use numerous online services. Your advantage: You save time, travel and costs.

For legal reasons, some applications require you to identify yourself to the authorities with a higher level of security. You will need:

  • ID card with online ID function or electronic residence permit AND
  • an NFC-enabled smartphone with free AusweisApp2 or a card reader

<p>The nationwide BundID and "My company account" user accounts are currently being introduced in the Amt24 service portal. The online services available in the service portal are gradually being converted to the use of BundID and "My company account".

From 01 July 2026, it will no longer be possible to use the Saxon service account for digital applications. Your data will not be transferred to the BundID user account. In order to continue to use numerous online services, a one-off free registration with the BundID user account is required.

Registration with an online ID is recommended, as this fulfils the highest level of trust as a means of identification and can therefore be used for any online application. In addition, you can open and read all messages in your BundID mailbox when you register with an online ID. If you log in with a user name and password, you may not be able to open some messages for security reasons.

The online ID card is an identity card with an activated online ID function (eID), the electronic residence permit (eAT) or the Union citizenship card (eID card). You can use these documents to securely and easily identify yourself electronically when using online applications.

To access your cached online applications, please log in with the user account with which you started the online application.
