Europe Week in Chemnitz invites international exchange, discussion, amazement and dancing

Chemnitz celebrates Europe from 6 to 10 May. Together with the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH and other project partners, the city of Chemnitz is offering a diverse programme consisting of theatre performances, exhibitions, a music programme and discussion events. Europe Week is one of the highlight weeks in the year of the European Capital of Culture, during which the city of Chemnitz also welcomes numerous guests from Germany and abroad.

The European work of the City of Chemnitz

The EU Office in the Communication and External Relations Department of the City of Chemnitz coordinates and supports transnational EU projects of the city, Chemnitz associations and institutions. It advises on funding opportunities from the European Union, searches for partners in Europe and carries out public relations work on European topics. The City of Chemnitz is also active in the European city network EUROCITIES.


EU funding

Benefit from the EU's funding programmes. Transnational means that the projects are not organised and implemented at government level but at social level. It is important to have an innovative idea and a sponsor that is authorised to receive funding (e.g. associations, institutions, offices) as well as sufficient preparation time.
