Networks

Chemnitz institutions, research facilities and companies are networked in a variety of ways. The aim is to bring together the key players from business, science, politics and administration, regardless of whether they are traditional industrial companies or start-up ideas on future topics.

An overview of the main formats of co-operation between business, science and research:

Industrial Association Saxony 1828 e.V.

Industrieverein Sachsen 1828 e.V. is an association of the Saxon economy. Its 130 members are industrial companies and industry-related companies that secure more than 50,000 jobs and generate an annual turnover of 15 billion euros. Industrieverein Sachsen 1828 was founded on 7 December 2000 in Chemnitz. It sees itself in the tradition of the "Industrial Association for the Kingdom of Saxony" of 1828, which brought about the urgently needed railway connection of Chemnitz at that time and initiated the founding of the Royal Industrial School as the forerunner of today's Chemnitz University of Technology.
