The most important aspects for deciding on a degree programme or career choice are the respective interests, inclinations, abilities, experience, strengths and weaknesses. However, there are many ways to find out about career opportunities.
Various chambers provide advice and name suitable addresses and dialogue partners and provide support and quality checks of the educational institutions:

Training with the City of Chemnitz

The City of Chemnitz is currently offering apprenticeships in four administrative professions and five industrial/technical professions. Whether at the desk or in the field - we are looking for motivated young people who want to get involved in their future profession.
Contact point for young people: The House of Youth

The "Haus der Jugend" at Heinrich-Lorenz-Straße 20 is a contact point for all questions relating to careers and training, financial benefits and job placement, where the needs of young people are catered for in a relaxed atmosphere and without officialese.
Career guidance
The coordination centre at the Chemnitz City Education Authority acts as a central point of contact for careers guidance.
Promotion of education
Training assistance is state financial support for living expenses and training during the training period for pupils and trainees who are not completing in-company or inter-company training.
Contribution to securing skilled labour in educator training
"Guideline of the City of Chemnitz for the promotion of independent providers in the context of securing skilled labour in the field of child day care facilities - educator training"
In accordance with this guideline, the city grants subsidies for training support measures in the area of child day care centres with the aim of
- Supporting independent organisations in the practice-integrated training of educators for the training period of 4 years in accordance with current requirements
- Securing the training, promotion and deployment planning of future specialised staff through financial support,
- Recruitment of specialist staff to comply with the statutory childcare ratio in Chemnitz daycare centres and thus guarantee a high quality of care.
- Commitment to the training provider, utilisation of resources and quality assurance after training,
Recipients of grants are recognised independent youth welfare organisations in accordance with Section 75 SGB VIII in conjunction with Section 19 of the State Youth Welfare Act, which operate at least one child daycare facility as part of the City of Chemnitz's requirements plan in accordance with Section 8 SächsKitaG.
There is no legal entitlement to the granting of subsidies. Once a grant has been awarded, there is no legal entitlement to funding in subsequent years, neither in terms of the reason nor the amount. The granting authority decides on the basis of its dutiful discretion within the framework of the available budget funds.
