"What Peace Means to Me" 2025 by Mayors for Peace

Since 2006, the city of Chemnitz has been a member of the Mayors for Peace initiative, which is committed to the abolition of nuclear weapons and lasting global peace.

In order to further promote peaceful coexistence in the minds of children in the member cities, Mayors for Peace is once again organising an art competition for children this year on the subject of "What Peace Means to Me". The current global political situation shows us that peace unfortunately cannot be taken for granted. Let us therefore set a good example together for a peaceful world.

Mayors for Peace called on schoolchildren between the ages of 6 and 15 to engage with the topic of "peace" and to creatively depict what peace means to them. The pictures could be handed in or sent to Chemnitz City Hall until 15 October 2025.

The "Lead City" in Chemnitz is the city of Hanover.

Sie bilden den Satz: Is it so hard to understand that this ist not the solution?
