Automatic data collection and cookies
The use of www.chemnitz.de is generally possible without disclosing personal data. Personal data are individual details about personal or factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person, i.e. above all data that are linked to the name or from the context of which a reference can be directly established.
When accessing the portal, the following data is stored for the purpose of security checks
- IP address
- Date and time of the page view
- Client software (usually browser type, version numbers)
- Transmitted input values (e.g. search terms)
- Access status of the web server (e.g. file transferred, file not found, etc.)
The recorded data is deleted after a security check has been carried out and after 14 days at the latest.
Cookies
This website uses cookies. These are small text files that are stored on your end device. Your browser accesses these files. The use of cookies increases the user-friendliness and security of this website.
Consent to the use of (technically unnecessary) cookies can be revoked at any time or a selection once made can be changed at any time.
Please use the following link to do so:
Entering personal data
The use of contact forms, order forms and other online services requires the entry of personal data in order to fulfil the requested services.
All personal data is collected and stored exclusively for the respective purpose.
You should note that if data is transmitted unencrypted on the Internet, there is a possibility that third parties may take note of it or falsify it. The SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption method is therefore offered for interactive services.
If you wish to send e-mails containing confidential information to the City of Chemnitz, please note that encryption cannot be offered for this at present and transmission would not be secure.
Deletion periods
The legislator has issued various retention obligations and periods. After these periods have expired, the corresponding data is routinely deleted if it is no longer required for the fulfilment of tasks.
Encrypted data transmission
This website uses SSL encryption to protect your transmitted data in the best possible way. All data that you transmit to this website cannot be read by third parties thanks to SSL encryption.
Privacy policy online application
We would like to point out that the online application requires the provision of personal information (by you), its storage and processing by the City of Chemnitz. There is no legal or contractual obligation to provide data.
Privacy policy for online appointments
The City of Chemnitz offers an online appointment booking service for citizens.
When using the online appointment booking service, users' personal data is collected and processed insofar as this is necessary to provide the service.
Subscription to a newsletter
On the websites www.chemnitz.de and www.chemnitz2025.de, users are given the opportunity to subscribe to our newsletter. The input mask used for this purpose determines what personal data is transmitted to the controller when the newsletter is ordered.
The Press Office of the City of Chemnitz provides information at regular intervals in the form of a newsletter.
The newsletter can only be received by the data subject if
(1) the data subject has a valid e-mail address and
(2) the data subject registers to receive the newsletter.
For legal reasons, a confirmation e-mail is sent to the e-mail address entered by a data subject for the first time for the newsletter dispatch using the double opt-in procedure. This confirmation email is used to check whether the owner of the email address as the data subject has authorised receipt of the newsletter.
When registering for the newsletter, we also store the IP address assigned by the Internet service provider (ISP) of the computer system used by the data subject at the time of registration, as well as the date and time of registration. The collection of this data is necessary in order to be able to trace the (possible) misuse of a data subject's e-mail address at a later date and therefore serves as legal protection for the controller.
The personal data collected when registering for the newsletter is used exclusively to send our newsletter. Furthermore, subscribers to the newsletter may be informed by e-mail if this is necessary for the operation of the newsletter service or a registration in this regard, as could be the case in the event of changes to the newsletter offer or in the event of a change in technical circumstances. The personal data collected as part of the newsletter service will not be passed on to third parties. The subscription to our newsletter can be cancelled by the data subject at any time. The consent to the storage of personal data, which the data subject has given us for the newsletter dispatch, can be revoked at any time. There is a corresponding link in every newsletter for the purpose of revoking consent. It is also possible to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time directly on the controller's website or to inform the controller of this in another way.
Newsletter tracking
The newsletter of the Press Office of the City of Chemnitz contains so-called tracking pixels. A tracking pixel is a miniature graphic that is embedded in emails that are sent in HTML format to enable log file recording and log file analysis. This allows the success or failure of online marketing campaigns to be statistically analysed. The embedded tracking pixel can be used to recognise whether and when an email was opened by a data subject and which links in the email were accessed by the data subject.
Such personal data collected via the tracking pixels contained in the newsletters are stored and evaluated by the controller in order to optimise the newsletter dispatch and to adapt the content of future newsletters even better to the interests of the data subject. This personal data is not passed on to third parties. Data subjects are entitled at any time to revoke the separate declaration of consent given in this regard via the double opt-in procedure.
After cancellation, this personal data will be deleted by the controller. The Press Office of the Press Office of the City of Chemnitz automatically regards a withdrawal from the receipt of the newsletter as a revocation.
Your rights
Declarations of consent given for the processing of personal data can be revoked at any time for the future. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
You have the following rights vis-à-vis the City of Chemnitz under the GDPR:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Right to rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure or to be forgotten (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Right to lodge a complaint against the processing of your personal data with the data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR)
The information generated by the cookie in the pseudonymised user profile is not used to personally identify the visitor to this website and is not merged with personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym.
If you do not agree to the storage and analysis of this data from your visit, you can object to its storage and use at any time by clicking below. In this case, a so-called opt-out cookie will be stored in your browser, which means that Matomo will not collect any session data. Please note that the complete deletion of your cookies means that the opt-out cookie will also be deleted and may have to be reactivated by you.
