Privacy policy newsletter service
Purpose of the processing
The City of Chemnitz offers various topic-specific newsletters. These serve to provide information on current developments, economic topics, job vacancies and official publications (official gazette).</p
<p>The newsletter is sent exclusively on the basis of prior registration by the user.</p
<h3>Legal basis
The processing of the data entered as part of the newsletter registration is based on:
- Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR (consent)
- § 7 para. 2 no. 3 UWG
Consent can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.</p
<h3>Processed data
Interested users can register on the website https://www.chemnitz.de/de/aktuell/newsletter to register for one or more newsletters.
The following data is processed as part of the registration process:
- Salutation (optional)
- Title (optional)
- First name (optional)
- Last name (optional)
- E-mail address
- Selection of subscribed newsletters
In addition, for the purpose of proving consent:
- IP address at the time of registration
- Date and time of registration
- Date and time of confirmation of the double opt-in
Procedure for registration (double opt-in)
Registration takes place using the so-called double opt-in procedure
.After registration, users receive an email requesting confirmation. The registration only becomes effective after this confirmation.
If no confirmation is received within seven days, the data entered will be automatically deleted. No further contact will be made.
Shipping service provider
For the storage of the data, administration of the recipients and sending the newsletter, the service Brevo used.
The processing is carried out on the basis of an order processing contract in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.
Data transfer to third countries
The processing generally takes place within the European Union
<p<p>If data is transferred to a third country as part of the provision of services, this is done exclusively on the basis of suitable guarantees within the meaning of Art. 44 et seq. GDPR, in particular through the conclusion of EU standard contractual clauses.
<p<h3>Measurement of success
The newsletters may contain technical processes that enable an analysis of user behaviour (e.g. opening rates or click behaviour).
These analyses are used exclusively for the statistical improvement of the offer.
If such an analysis is carried out, this is also done on the basis of the consent given.
Storage duration
The data is stored:
- Until consent is withdrawn
- After unsubscribing for organisational reasons in a blacklist to prevent future mailings
Data as proof of consent may also be stored for the duration of statutory limitation periods
.Cancellation / revocation
Consent can be revoked at any time
.For this purpose:
- Use the unsubscribe link in the newsletter or
- Send a message to the contact details provided in the legal notice of the City of Chemnitz website
After cancellation, no further mailings will be sent
.Obligation to provide
The provision of data is voluntary
.However, it is not possible to send the newsletter without providing the email address.</p
