Arbitration centres of the city of Chemnitz
In accordance with the law on arbitration boards in the municipalities of the Free State of Saxony and on the recognition of arbitration boards within the meaning of Section 794 (1) No. 1 of the Code of Civil Procedure (SächsSchiedsGütStG) of 27 May 1999, the City of Chemnitz has established 6 arbitration boards.
The arbitration board is the settlement authority within the meaning of Section 380 (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
In cases of trespassing, insult, violation of the secrecy of correspondence, bodily harm (Sections 223 and 229 of the Criminal Code), threats and damage to property, legal action may only be brought after an unsuccessful attempt at atonement has been made by a conciliation authority to be designated by the state justice administration.
The Arbitration Board conducts arbitration proceedings in civil disputes concerning property and non-property claims and claims arising from neighbouring rights due to violation of personal honour.
The arbitration procedure does not take place in legal disputes
- which fall within the jurisdiction of the family and labour courts;
- disputes concerning the violation of personal honour in the press, radio and television;
- in which the federal government, the federal states, the municipalities or other corporations, institutions or foundations under public law are involved.
How do I contact a justice of the peace?
The city of Chemnitz is divided into 6 arbitration districts. A justice of the peace is responsible for each of these districts.
