Privacy policy for online appointments
The City of Chemnitz offers an online appointment booking service for citizens.
When using the online appointment booking service, users' personal data is collected and processed insofar as this is necessary to provide the service.

2 Legal basis and purpose of data processing
Personal data is processed in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter GDPR), Article 6 (1a). Citizens use the online appointment allocation service on a voluntary basis by giving their consent. A clearly labelled consent field is clicked for this purpose.
The data controller collects the following personal data from users exclusively for the purpose of booking and processing appointments
- Name
- Contact details (e-mail address)
- Request for the appointment
3 Storage period / data deletion
The data will be deleted 24 hours after the end of the agreed appointment.
4 Data transmission to recipients
The personal data collected will be forwarded to the relevant office of Chemnitz City Council for the purpose of booking and processing appointments.
5 Data protection rights
1. right to information (Art. 15 GDPR):
You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning you is being processed. If this is the case, you have a right to information about this personal data and to the information listed in detail in Art. 15 GDPR.
2. right to rectification and erasure (Art. 16 and 17 GDPR):
You have the right to obtain without undue delay the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you and, where applicable, the completion of incomplete personal data. You also have the right to demand that personal data concerning you be deleted immediately if one of the reasons listed in Art. 17 GDPR applies in detail, e.g. if the data is no longer required for the purposes pursued.
3. right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR):
You have the right to request the restriction of processing if one of the conditions listed in Art. 18 GDPR applies, e.g. if you have objected to processing, for the duration of any review.
4. right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR):
In certain cases, which are listed in detail in Art. 20 GDPR, you have the right to receive the personal data concerning you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or to request the transmission of this data to a third party.
5. right of cancellation
The user can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future by contacting the controller. The revocation does not affect the legality of the processing carried out until the revocation.
6. right of appeal to a supervisory authority
In accordance with Art. 77 GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of data concerning you violates data protection regulations. The right to lodge a complaint can be exercised in particular with a supervisory authority in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.

Additional data protection information on the website
Automatic data collection and cookies
When accessing the online appointment system, the web server saves the following data by default:
- IP address
- Client software (usually browser type, version numbers
- the website from which you are visiting us
- the website you visit on our site
- the error code of the enquiry
- the amount of data transferred
- the date and time the page was accessed
The collected data will be deleted after 14 days following a security check.
Cookies
This website uses cookies to ensure the functionality of the site. These are small text files that are stored on your end device. Your browser accesses these files.
If you select the "Save personal data for future requests" option parameter, your personal data (surname, email address) will be saved in a cookie on your device. You do not have to enter this data again when you book another appointment. If you do not wish to allow this, do not select this option. You can delete cookies that have been set via your browser settings.
Data security
We take technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access as comprehensively as possible.
We use an encryption process on our website. Your data is transmitted from your computer to our server and vice versa via the Internet using TLS encryption. You can recognise this by the fact that the lock symbol in the status bar of your browser is closed and the address line begins with https://.

Other service providers may support us in the operation of this website and the associated processes. These service providers are strictly bound by our instructions and contractually obliged in accordance with Article 28 of the General Data Protection Regulation.
