The majority of contracts awarded by the City of Chemnitz are awarded to companies in the city and the region, meaning that the city administration makes an important contribution to promoting the regional economy.

City of Chemnitz invites you to the fourth municipal procurement conference
Tuesday, 26 August 2025 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in the Great Hall of the IHK
On Tuesday, 26 August, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, the City of Chemnitz is inviting regional companies to the fourth procurement conference in the Great Hall of the Chemnitz Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Straße der Nationen 25. The aim is to provide early and transparent information about planned, ongoing and upcoming construction projects as well as contract award projects of the City of Chemnitz.
Registration is possible until 21 August via the participation portal of the City of Chemnitz at . Interested parties can already ask questions when registering so that the contact persons can prepare for the event as well as possible.
Those responsible from the specialist departments - including building construction and facility management, civil engineering, traffic and sewer construction as well as green spaces - will be available for discussions and questions. The conference will also provide an opportunity for direct dialogue with employees from the central procurement offices on municipal procurement practices.
The procurement conference is organised on the initiative of the Business Division.

3rd procurement conference provides information on municipal projects
On 5 September 2023, the City of Chemnitz held its third procurement conference in the Great Hall of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (Straße der Nationen 25). With this format, the City of Chemnitz aims to inform regional companies about upcoming construction measures and procurement projects at an early stage. Entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to find out about relevant tenders and prepare corresponding resources if necessary.
In particular, measures from the transport and civil engineering department, the building management and structural engineering department, the Chemnitz waste disposal company (ESC) and the main office were presented.
