Christmas tree sale
Saturday, 6 December 2025, 9 am to 12 noon, at Ebersdorfer Wald
This year, for the first time in six years, the City of Chemnitz Parks Department is selling Christmas trees.
The trees are 1.0 to 2.5 metres tall blue spruces and Nordmann firs, which you can cut yourself. If necessary, the forestry workers will of course give you a helping hand.
The trees are grown without the use of pesticides or fertilisers. Each tree costs 20 euros, payable by EC card or cash. If you wish, you can take your tree home wrapped in a net.
Individual handsaws are available to borrow. However, bringing your own handsaw will definitely save you waiting time. The use of your own chainsaw is not permitted.
Access road
Access by car is from the Tännichtleite to the edge of the forest, through the open barrier on the path next to the power lines to the Christmas tree culture. Access is signposted from Stiftsweg and Slevogtstraße.
The ticket office is located in front of the railway subway. This is the only place where you can obtain the necessary receipt to leave the site with a Christmas tree. Exit is only possible through the railway subway and the street "An der Bahnstrecke". Turning is not permitted due to the narrow paths. However, it is also possible to buy Christmas trees on foot.
