Opening hours (regular): Mondays to Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Exceptions:
Friday, 28 November, from 4 pm to 9 pm, and Saturday, 29 November, from 10 am to 10 pm
Many visitors are expected on the occasion of the finale of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025, which is why the Christmas market will be open one hour longer on these two days. The extension is voluntary for the traders, i.e. they can also close at 9 pm.
The Chemnitz Christmas Market will be opened by Lord Mayor Sven Schulze on 28 November at 4 pm. Visitors can visit the approx. 200 stalls in Chemnitz city centre until 23 December 2025. Afterwards, food and drink will be available on Neumarkt and Düsseldorfer Platz until 3 January 2026.

Relocation of the weekly market to the area by the Red Tower
Due to the construction work for the Chemnitz Christmas market, the weekly market will take place in a smaller form at the Roter Turm until 23 December. Opening hours are Tuesdays to Fridays from 9 am to 4 pm, as well as on Saturdays 15 November and 22 November from 9 am to 1 pm. There will be no weekly market from 24 to 29 December. On Tuesday, 31 December, the weekly market is open from 9 am to 12 noon.
