At its meeting today, the City Council approved changes to the street cleaning and street cleaning fee statutes of the City of Chemnitz from 1 January 2026.
The four-week cleaning cycle was introduced in the street cleaning statutes in the localities and comparable districts with little traffic. The entire list of streets in the annex to the street cleaning statutes was adjusted accordingly.
A one-year calculation period was selected for the street cleaning fee statutes. The statutes apply for the period from 1 January to 31 December 2026.
The basic fee for street cleaning in Chemnitz will be 90 cents per metre in 2026.
The fees for the City of Chemnitz's cleaning obligation on pavements and in pedestrian zones will increase by 5.2 to 5.8 per cent depending on the cleaning frequency (cleaning every fortnight up to five times a week).
For roadway cleaning, the fees increase by 11.7 to 12.8 per cent depending on the cleaning frequency (cleaning obligation of the City of Chemnitz every fortnight up to five times a week).
The bylaws will be published in the official gazette of the City of Chemnitz and will come into force on 1 January 2026.
