European Mountain Parade and finale of the Capital of Culture year

Traffic restrictions in the period from 25 November to 2 December

On Saturday, 29 November, both the European Mountain Parade and the finale of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 will take place. Traffic restrictions in Chemnitz city centre are essential for both events.

Around 1,100 miners and numerous visitors are expected along the route for the European Mining Parade from 2 pm to around 4 pm. The mining parade starts at 2 pm on the theatre square and ends with a final concert at around 3 pm on the theatre square.
The finale of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 will begin at 8 pm with the public event "Feierabend" on the stage next to the Karl Marx Monument, which will then turn into a rave on Brückenstraße at around 9 pm.

Various stopping restrictions and closures will be necessary to ensure that both events run smoothly. The events themselves will be secured by the Chemnitz Police Department with operational measures.

Stopping bans

From Tuesday, 25 November, stopping restrictions will be put in place on Brückenstraße in order to secure the set-up work for the final event.
