On Saturday, 29 November at 11 a.m., the Lord Mayor, the Mayors and the Mayoress of the City of Chemnitz invite you to the official reception on the occasion of the finale of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 at the Museum of Industry, Zwickauer Straße 119. Around 300 invited guests from politics, business and society are expected to attend.
Representatives of the media are also invited. Please use the accreditation form attached, which we ask you to return by 12 noon on Wednesday, 26 November.
In addition to numerous representatives from the partner cities, the regional municipalities and from previous and future European Capitals of Culture (ECoC family), representatives of the Free State of Bavaria and the European Commission as well as volunteers from the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 are expected to attend.
Stefan Schmidtke and Andrea Pier, Managing Directors of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH, will host the programme. Speeches are planned by Lord Mayor Sven Schulze, Silke Franzl, Mayor of Ehrenfriedersdorf, Franziska Brech, Head of the Culture and Tourism Division at the Saxon State Ministry for Science, Culture and Tourism, and Barbara Gessler, Head of the European Commission Representation in Germany.
Chemnitz, the European Capital of Culture 2025, and 38 municipalities in the region are coming to the end of an outstanding year. A unique programme was implemented under the motto "C the Unseen", in which countless partners were involved. The reception provides an opportunity to look back together and start the final day in style. With the Maker Advent "Christmas Workshop", the European Mountain Parade, Christmas carol singing on Theatre Square, the Christmas market, the final show on Brückenstraße and the rave on Brückenstraße, the final day has numerous highlights in store.
