Short description:
Arthur e. V. (Kulturhaus Arthur) is a non-profit, socio-cultural association that sees itself as an open platform for a transcultural, cross-generational, locally and globally based dialogue in the process of interweaving art, culture, educational policy work and a responsible, civic-democratic attitude. Kulturhaus Arthur is thus a place for constant, dynamic dialogue on the various issues and interests of our time.
The aim of Kulturhaus Arthur is - as a non-closed structure for participation, sustainability and creativity - to act in a way that strengthens democracy and to take up, implement, promote and develop the European idea of peaceful coexistence and working and living together.
Mindful of the building's history as a place of state security, which warns us to regard freedom of speech, artistic freedom and democratic freedom as a valuable asset, the association opposes any kind of unifying ideology that damages the diverse character of modern societies and the value and necessity of tolerance and openness with the idea of an open platform.
