The Chemnitz Christmas market will be extended beyond the holidays again this year! From 27 December 2025 to 3 January 2026, the "ChemnitzCity" initiative and the City of Chemnitz's business division, together with numerous partners, invite you to an atmospheric end to the year on Düsseldorfer Platz with the "Erzgebirgsdorf" and on Neumarkt with the "Hüttenzauber".

From mulled wine and children's punch to tasty delicacies, musical sounds and a wintery atmosphere, the extension of the Christmas market has everything you need to bring the festive season to an enjoyable close and start the new year.

Health & Social Workers Exchange on 29 and 30 December

For the third time in a row, there will be a special highlight in the form of a skilled labour exchange to extend the Christmas market! From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day in the pyramid on Düsseldorfer Platz, companies, educational institutions and organisations from Chemnitz will be presenting themselves in the fields of health, social and care services.

In a relaxed, Christmassy atmosphere, they will present their current job vacancies and be available for personal discussions.

The event is aimed in particular at returnees, skilled workers or anyone interested in career prospects in Chemnitz. The aim is to promote dialogue and make new career opportunities in the region visible.

A new format for a strong industry

The healthcare sector with its medical, nursing and social professions is one of the pillars of our society - it stands for humanity, responsibility and future security. At the same time, many organisations are looking for committed specialists, motivated career changers and returnees who want to work in the region.

Numerous clinics, care facilities, outpatient services and educational institutions from the entire region will be presenting themselves in the pyramid on both days and providing information about job opportunities, training paths and career opportunities.

Talks instead of application documents

The Skilled Labour Exchange deliberately focuses on a low-threshold approach. The focus is on discussions - not application documents. Anyone interested in the health and social work sector is invited:

  • Professionals with a desire for reorientation
  • People who would like to return to Chemnitz
  • career changers looking for a meaningful profession
  • Young talents who would like to find out about training programmes

The employment agency is also on site and presents current job vacancies. This gives visitors a comprehensive overview of career prospects in the region - from entry-level jobs to further training opportunities, everyday working life in healthcare and social professions to specific job offers.
