Support campaign for daycare centres with special needs

Social work in daycare centres

Cross-organisational specialist advice

A safe, stimulating and therefore development-promoting educational framework forms the basis of the educational work in a daycare centre as well as the legal mandate to supplement the family.

The aim is to combine social work with needs-orientated daycare concepts. It is essential to focus on individual circumstances and situations in order to have a direct and preventative effect in day care centres. The campaign supports both the children and their families.

It is a support measure for day care centres in Chemnitz, which particularly care for children from families in precarious living situations, in socially determined inequality and children with special learning and life difficulties.

  • The daycare centre social workers are contact persons for parents, children and guardians as well as for the educational staff.

  • Daycare centre social workers are accompanied and supported by the inter-agency specialist advice service of the youth welfare office.
  • The specialist counselling service is the point of contact for questions from daycare centre management, specialists and other stakeholders regarding the implementation of the support campaign.
