On Sunday, 21 September, from 1 pm to 5 pm, children and adults are invited to family time in the countryside on the Küchwaldwiese. The event, which focuses on games, fun and shared experiences, is organised by the City of Chemnitz's Children and Youth Officer, Dina Norberger, and other partners.
A varied family activity day with sporting and creative hands-on activities is planned. Children who take part in at least five stations can look forward to a surprise. A special highlight is the smoothie bike, where guests can pedal with their own muscle power and mix themselves a delicious smoothie. There will also be a clothes swap market for children's clothing, a slackline, can throwing and football. The Chemnitz Family App will also be presented.
Numerous Chemnitz associations, offices and initiatives will be presenting themselves. Among them are representatives of day care parents, the child and youth helpline, the Office for Health and Prevention, the City Sports Association, atiptap e. V., the local Chemnitz Child Protection Association, the Sigmund Jähn Cosmonaut Centre and the Entdeckerland day care centre. The Chemnitz Park Railway is also taking part in the celebrations to mark 200 years of railways in Europe.
You can enjoy the day in the countryside with a picnic blanket and basket. There are also several catering options available in the Küchwald.

Parking is available at the Jutta Müller Ice Sports Centre and at the Küchwaldring car park.
The event will be cancelled in the event of heavy or persistent rain.
