Christmas market, concert and exchange in Ústí nad Labem
Czech twin town invites you to an Advent excursion on 3 December - registration possible until 30 September
On Wednesday, 3 December, senior citizens from Chemnitz are invited to an Advent excursion to the Czech twin town of Ústí nad Labem with a concert, city tour and visit to the Christmas market. Participation is free of charge.
Registration is required by 30 September at www.chemnitz.de/advent. A total of 200 places are available. The outward and return journey will be organised by coach from Chemnitz. However, it is also possible to travel there and back independently.
The coach is scheduled to depart at 11.30 am. The coach will return to Chemnitz at around 10.00 pm.
The detailed departure points will be communicated by e-mail after registration.
The day trip is all about culture and exchange between senior citizens from the twin cities of Ústí nad Labem and Chemnitz. The participants will be officially welcomed at 2 pm in the House of Culture in Ústí nad Labem. Afterwards, they can get to know the Czech twin city better on a tour of the city or by visiting the city museum. A visit to the Christmas market is planned for around 5 pm. The highlight of the day will be a concert by the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra in the theatre hall of the Ústí nad Labem House of Culture. In addition to this varied cultural programme, it will also be possible to talk to senior citizens from the Czech twin city. Interpreters will be on hand to improve communication.
The project is a cooperation between the twin cities of Chemnitz and Ústí nad Labem, financed by funding from the Interreg and Euroregion Elbe-Labe programmes.
