At its meeting today, Chemnitz City Council decided to name the public street to be created by the construction project "Wohngebiet an der Bornaer Straße" (development plan no. 21/01) "Bornaer Hang". This suggestion came from the project and property developer, which is based in Chemnitz-Borna. The Building Regulations and Surveying Office of the City of Chemnitz as the office responsible for street naming, the Street Names Working Group and the Chemnitz North Citizens' Platform support this proposal.
The development area is located between Bornaer Strasse and Auerswalder Strasse in the Borna-Heinersdorf district. The new access road with turning hammer and the adjoining path for pedestrians and cyclists will create a publicly usable connection between Bornaerstrasse and Auerswalder Strasse. It is situated on a slope and the allotment garden association "Am Bornaer Hang" is located nearby. The spatial reference of the name makes it possible to orientate oneself in the urban area as well as in the surrounding area.
