Putting down roots for change

Adult education centre: Climate meeting on 25 September, from 6 to 7.30 pm, Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147

On Thursday, 25 September, from 6 to 7.30 p.m., interested parties are invited to the Climate Meeting of the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre in the Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147.

Participation is free of charge. Registration is possible via the link to the event or by telephone on 0371 488 4343.

Sten Gillner, head of the Chemnitz Botanical Garden, will give an overview of the complex topic of changes caused by climate change and show that some plants can develop strategies to adapt to climate change. Heat and drought in recent years and the resulting imbalance in the water management of the plant world can lead to increased pest infestation and growth restrictions or even the death of plants.

On the last Thursday of every month, the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre organises a VHS climate meeting under the motto "Sustainability connects". The format provides a framework for all Chemnitz residents who want to learn more about climate protection and sustainability and stay up to date. The aim is to build a climate-conscious community in Chemnitz that offers the opportunity for networking, regular dialogue and discussion of current issues affecting Chemnitz and the region. Together, ways are to be found to get involved in a climate-friendly Chemnitz.
