From now until 31 August, citizens in Chemnitz have the opportunity to take part in a survey on meeting places in Chemnitz districts. Under the motto "Together - not lonely!", the aim is to identify and expand existing meeting places or create new meeting places in the city area that promote social cohesion and counteract loneliness.
The survey is part of the Capital of Culture project "Spaces of Generosity - Places of Encounter" and can be found at the following link: https: //mitdenken.sachsen.de/1052659
Encounters often take place in unexpected places in everyday life - on a park bench, at the bakery, in a neighbourhood meeting place or at the bus stop. But where do people really feel welcome? Where do conversations, community and a sense of togetherness arise? Where do they feel comfortable and how can meeting places be improved?
To find answers to these questions, the city of Chemnitz and several local meeting places have launched this survey. It is aimed at anyone who would like to share their experiences and wishes regarding neighbourly encounters in their district. The results of the survey will flow directly into the further development of liveable neighbourhoods in Chemnitz.
The "Spaces of Generosity" project is a central project in the bid book for the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 and relies on broad citizen participation to create intergenerational, inclusive and community-building spaces.
