After the event, Michael Kuhl, member of the Vehicle Museum Association and Prof. Dr.-Ing. at the Faculty of Engineering at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, and Claudia Großkopp, Director of the Tram Museum, answered three questions about their views on the event:

What did you particularly like about the event?

Mr Kuhl: On the one hand, the event was very informative in terms of the points that have been discussed so far, and on the other hand it was very open and constructive in terms of future work in the area of cultural strategy.
In this respect, I particularly liked the fact that as many areas and interest groups as possible were invited to participate. Only in this way can the very good, but also very ambitious goals of the strategy be achieved at all.

Ms Großkopp: The various themed tables and the lively exchange. It would make sense for the groups to work in several rooms in future.

What did you take away from the event?

Mr Kuhl: One important thing that was clearly expressed by everyone at the event was the point of "collaborative, interdisciplinary work".
The early involvement of the Department of Urban Development and Construction or the clear perception of private art initiatives or e.V. - supported museums as eminent participants in the field of art and culture in a city are the key to success.
An important step has been taken here.

Mrs Großkopp: That there is still a lot to do and that further work needs to be done on a clear concept. That there is still a lack of direction and that the individual organisations need to be more willing to compromise, because we can only move forward together. It is always difficult because everyone has to fight to make progress. However, I don't have an overview of this either, as I can only give you the impressions of one topic table.

What results do you expect next from the event?

Mr Kuhl: We have set very good, but also very high targets for 2030. In order to achieve these, the following must apply - the journey itself is already a goal.
Of course, I expect increasing concretisation and I expect further and further cooperation. A symbiosis of all those involved on an equal footing, even if the potential between the players is not evenly distributed simply because of their "size". But that's what it's all about - getting everyone excited about a common goal and realising it step by step.

Ms Großkopp: A clear concept and a defined goal for the direction, but this is difficult to answer as I was no longer present for the brief evaluation and only took part up to the topic tables.
