On 9 March, the coordinated construction project of the waste disposal company of the city of Chemnitz (ESC) will start on Uhlestraße from Annaberger Straße to Comeniusstraße.
The sewerage system, including the connecting sewers, will be renovated in Uhlestraße. At the same time, the drinking water pipe including the house connection pipes as well as cables for the low and medium voltage road and fibre optic cables are being laid. The district heating pipes will be installed from Comeniusstrasse to Uhlestrasse 14. Finally, the section of road in question will be completely renewed.
For the construction work, Uhlestrasse will have to be fully closed in sections from Annaberger Strasse to Comeniusstrasse. Access to the properties is only possible to a limited extent, but they can be reached on foot at any time. The work should be completed by the end of November.
The ESC, the city's traffic and civil engineering department and eins energie in sachsen GmbH und Co KG are investing a total of around 696,000 euros. The company Strabag AG from Wilkau-Haßlau is carrying out the work.
