On 27 April, a coordinated construction project will begin in Guerickestrasse and Popowstrasse. The waste disposal company of the City of Chemnitz is renovating the sewerage system and connecting sewers, while eins energie in sachsen GmbH & Co. KG is renewing the drinking water pipeline including the house connections and the cables for the low-voltage road. Due to the construction work, sections of Guerickestraße between Nansenstraße and Windweg and Popowstraße from the Kappelbach bridge to Eichelbergweg will be fully closed.
Access to the properties is only possible to a limited extent, but they can be reached on foot at any time. The total construction costs amount to around 2.26 million euros. The construction company carrying out the work is Phönix-Bau GmbH, Aue-Bad Schlema. The construction project ends in December 2027.
