A total of 56 interested culture makers, representatives of cultural institutions and city council members accepted the invitation of the Kulturbetrieb to the third "Cultural Strategy Workshop" on 17 October. Information was provided on site about the current status of the planned implementation of the cultural strategy, Chemnitz's bid to become European Capital of Culture and the opportunities for active participation in individual projects.

In cooperation with the cultural management of the city of Chemnitz, Jörg Braune (Radio t e. V.) brought the second part of "Words + Pictures on Culture in Chemnitz" to the premiere. Here to (re)watch: www.worteundbilder2.radiot-chemnitz.de. Part I was produced in summer 2016 for the kick-off event for the development of the cultural strategy.

Mayor Michael Stötzer provided examples of the current status of work and the collaboration with cultural experts on the Museum Mile, Capital of Culture Intervention Areas and Zukunft-Werk-Stadt-Chemnitz (AT) projects. The Mayor's Office, CWE mbH and Department 3 (Order and Safety) are working closely with Mayor Burghart on important focal points such as communication, the cultural and creative industries, making festivals and public events possible and developing a concept for art in public spaces.

Initial measures were worked on at four themed tables, such as the development of a concept for festivals and major events, a city laboratory, marketing and publicity measures as well as the development of a concept for museums, collections, archives and memorials. The participants were able to discuss the entire draft implementation plan with Department 5, the Network for Cultural and Youth Work association and the Cultural Management/Cultural Operations department at the bar table area. The rough considerations for the new strategy for the promotion of independent culture, based on the cultural strategy, were also available for inspection and discussion.
