Cross-organisational specialist advice and training for educational professionals
The state programme "Day-to-day integrated language education in child daycare in Saxony" was launched in 2023 by the Saxon budget legislator. The state programme aims to strengthen the language education of all children in Saxony's childcare facilities, i.e. crèches, kindergartens, after-school care centres and daycare centres.
In Chemnitz, four language mentors have been entrusted with the task of advising, qualifying and networking daycare centres on the topics of everyday language education and health education, with a particular focus on oral health.
Why is this important? Language education integrated into everyday life is important as it forms the basis for a child's overall development. It teaches children to express their thoughts, feelings and needs. This is crucial for their social skills, their self-confidence and their later success at school.</p
<p>The target group here are educational professionals in daycare centres from crèches, daycare centres, after-school care and childminders, who are to receive individual and practical support in their work.
To this end, a selection of training programmes on the topic of everyday integrated language education and oral health is available for educational professionals and childminders.
Basic principles
The basis is the guideline for improving quality and participation in child daycare.
The Free State of Saxony supports measures to improve quality and participation in child day care within the framework of this directive.
The amendment to this guideline adopted on 17 June 2025 will enable the use of federal and state funds until the end of 2026.
