The nationwide public authority number 115 has been in existence for 15 years. Following a decision by the IT Planning Council, the nationwide 115 regular operation started on 14 April 2011, after the trial operation with 13 independent cities and districts had already started in March 2009.
The Chemnitz service centre has been part of the 115 network since 1 February 2012. During this time, 115 has been dialled almost one million times in Chemnitz. Citizens receive quick and uncomplicated answers to administrative questions here - regardless of which authority is responsible. This makes the 115 service centre of the City of Chemnitz a reliable point of contact for citizens. Whether birth certificates, driving licences, vehicle registrations, marriages or business registrations - the staff at 115 provide daily support for various administrative matters.
Mayor Knut Kunze: "115 makes administration accessible, fast and easy to understand. For our citizens, it is often the first and easiest way to find the right answer. 115 stands for citizen-centred service, short distances and modern administration. Our thanks go in particular to the employees in the service centre, who are there for the people in our city with great commitment every day."
The public authority number 115 is now available nationwide. Around 31 million people now benefit from the full 115 service with information on state and federal services as well as comprehensive information on municipal administrative services. Even where the full service is not yet available, 115 provides support with information on the responsibilities and contact details of the authorities. In addition, 115 provides information about digital administrative services and accompanies citizens on their way to digital administration.
The 115 is available Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and can also be used internationally in Germany and on +49 115.
