On Tuesday, 2 June, Thursday, 4 June and Tuesday, 9 June, interested parties can once again take part in a basic course for neighbourhood assistance. The aim is for participants to be able to relieve carers in the home on an hourly basis and accompany those in need of care. Due to the great interest following the courses in February and April, the Adult Education Centre of the City of Chemnitz is now offering this course again.

During the three days of the course, those interested will be trained to work as a neighbourhood helper. Essential basics on the topic of the need for care are taught.
The contents of the course are
- Relevant legal regulations,
- Framework of action for neighbourhood helpers,
- Basic knowledge of common illnesses,
- Dealing with confused people,
- Basic knowledge of personal hygiene and food intake,
- measures in emergency situations,
- practical tips and advice for their work.
After successfully completing the course, participants receive a certificate that entitles them to receive financial support from the care insurance companies for the neighbourhood assistance they provide.
