Families with small children can now find a complete overview of all known free breastfeeding and nappy-changing points in the city at www.chemnitz.de/mitbabyunterwegs and in the Chemnitz family app. Especially now that the days are getting warmer again and families are being drawn outdoors, they may need a quiet place to breastfeed or change their babies.
In order to make Chemnitz even more family-friendly and to better support families in their everyday lives, the City of Chemnitz's Children and Youth Officer, Dina Norberger, has contacted various facilities and asked whether children can be breastfed and/or nappies changed on site. The feedback was consistently positive: many providers allow parents to use their facilities for this purpose - for example, Emmas Café, one of the few family cafés in Chemnitz where both breastfeeding and nappy changing are easily possible.
Anyone who knows of other free breastfeeding and nappy-changing facilities in Chemnitz can let the Children and Young People's Officer know by emailing kinderbeauftragte(at)stadt-chemnitz.de or calling 0371 488 5105.
