On Thursday, 4 June at 7 pm, anyone interested is invited to the summer concert of the Municipal Music School in the Carlowitz Hall of the Carlowitz Congress Centre Chemnitz, Theaterstraße 3. Outstanding soloists and ensembles such as the Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Flitzebögen, the Chemnitz Young Vocal Ensemble and the Children's Plucked String Orchestra will create an evening full of musical highlights.
Admission costs 21 euros, tickets are available at the event link.
Representatives of the media are also invited. For organisational reasons, please send a short message to the press office of the City of Chemnitz.
The programme includes musical excerpts from "Helden auf dem Notenblatt" by Franz Kanefzky, which was very well received at the last "Viva la musica!" concert. Another highlight will be the world premiere of Wolfgang Heisig's composition "Gehege", which was created especially for the municipal music school's youth symphony orchestra. Members of the Saxon Symphony Orchestra and the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra will enrich the concert as musical guests.
The festive evening will also be the setting to bid farewell to the long-serving headmistress Nancy Gibson. After many years of dedicated work, she will retire on 1 October. Representatives from the arts, politics, teachers and pupils will express their gratitude with warm words of welcome.
