From Friday to Sunday, 29 to 31 May, the Traffic and Public Works Department will be enforcing a 30 km/h speed limit on Theaterstraße between the Kaßberg slip road and Hartmannstraße to safeguard the Hat Festival, which is taking place in the city centre during this period.
The 30 km/h speed limit will apply at the following times:
| Friday, 29 May, | from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. |
| Saturday, 30 May, | from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. |
| Sunday, 31 May, | from 11 am to 7 pm |
The City of Chemnitz will be carrying out speed checks in this area in order to enforce the speed limit and to ensure the flow of visitors around the event areas.
For this purpose, the colourful enforcement trailer designed with children's pictures will be set up on Theaterstraße, in the direction of Hartmannstraße, at the level of the Webergasse access road.
The highly visible design of the trailer is intended - in addition to speed enforcement - to draw attention to road safety issues and the protection of particularly vulnerable road users.
