Car park concept stage 2b is implemented

On 1 July 2024, Resident Parking Zone E came into operation in accordance with the parking scheme for Chemnitz city centre (Resolution No. B-157/2016). In accordance with the City of Chemnitz’s parking charges regulations, parking in this area is subject to a charge in all public parking spaces. Residents with a valid resident parking permit are exempt from these charges.

For information regarding the application and the parking zones under Stage 2b of the parking scheme, please contact the City of Chemnitz’s D 115 service hotline. To be eligible for a resident parking permit, the applicant must:

  • the applicant is officially registered with their main or secondary residence in the designated area,
  • they have a vehicle registered in their name or can provide evidence that they make permanent use of someone else’s vehicle,
  • holds a valid driving licence.

 

To obtain a resident parking permit, the applicant must complete an application form and provide the necessary supporting documents. To this end, the following documents must be submitted in original form or as copies:

  • an identity card showing a valid registered address or, in the case of a secondary residence, a current certificate of registration (not older than 1 year),
  • residence permit or certificate of registration for foreign applicants,
  • Vehicle registration certificate,
  • and, if using someone else’s vehicle, a declaration of use from the vehicle owner,
  • a driving licence if using a third party’s vehicle.

The application forms can be accessed via www.chemnitz.de/bewohnerparkausweis. There you will find further information on the application process and the costs involved. You can also submit your application directly online via this site.

Please email your applications to bewohnerparkausweis(at)stadt-chemnitz.de. Applications can only be processed if they are signed by hand or with an electronic signature and accompanied by all the necessary documents.

Applications may also be submitted by post. The postal address is: City of Chemnitz, Department of Transport and Civil Engineering, Friedensplatz 1, 09111 Chemnitz. Parking permits will be sent exclusively by post.

In-person visits are only possible by appointment, which can be made by email (bewohnerparkausweis(at)stadt-chemnitz.de), by telephone via the D 115 service hotline, or via the City of Chemnitz’s online appointment portal.
