The filtration plant at the Einsiedel Dam waterworks is being expanded. The foundation stone was laid today.
With a total investment of 46.3 million euros, this is the largest investment that the South Saxony Long-Distance Water Supply Association has made, according to its own
in its 30-year history to secure the drinking water supply. The project is 50 per cent subsidised by the Free State.
The association supplies drinking water to a total of 1.3 million residents in Southern Saxony, including the people of Chemnitz, around half of whose drinking water comes from the waterworks in Einsiedel.
