Easter holidays in Chemnitz

From 18 to 25 April, schoolchildren in Saxony have their Easter holidays. To prevent boredom during the holiday period, we have put together some tips for things to do alone or with the whole family. These are not exhaustive and are subject to change.

We wish all holidaying children a happy and relaxing Easter!

The zoo and wildlife enclosure are open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in April.

The Easter Bunny has announced his visit to Chemnitz Zoo for Easter Sunday, 20 April 2025. If you're lucky, you might even meet him in person with his basket. He will have small Easter surprises for the children.

The Easter Bunny has been hiding countless Easter eggs in the wildlife enclosure on Easter Sunday for many years. This year too, he will be paying a visit on 20 April. From 10 a.m., young and old can search for the eggs in the extensive game enclosure.

The Red Tower as a bedside lamp

For the new special exhibition "fit. A Saxon success story", children on holiday can design bedside lamps in the shape of the Red Tower from empty washing-up liquid bottles. There are no limits to their creativity.

Tuesday to Friday 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Children's tour with Robi Robot

Holiday children experience machines in operation and can try their hand at various stations.

Tuesday to Friday 1 - 2 p.m.

Make your own washing-up liquid

The product "fit" is presented in the special exhibition. But how is it produced? How can you make a similar product at home with the simplest of means? We'll get closer in the workshop.
Tuesday to Friday 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Children's tour with Robi Robot rabbit

Like many other machines, robots are constant companions in our lives. What can they do today and what will they possibly be able to do in the future?
Tuesday to Friday 1 - 2 p.m.

Bubble Painting

Participants create colourful pictures in a playful way using coloured soap suds. After a guided tour of the special exhibition "fit. A Saxon success story", these are then supplemented with drawings to create imaginative scenes.
